Kids are going back to school, the nights are upon us even earlier and there will be even less things to look forward to… And before you know it, you’re digging out those fluffy sweaters, boots, and light jackets for autumn. But, that doesn’t mean the fun has to end!

First of all, a big thank you to everyone who came and brought in some really wonderful ideas to share! It was extremely refreshing to see and listen to such a diverse variety of ideas and cultural values amongst our group.

As usual, let’s get on with our bi-weekly recap! First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for doing their homework and getting our discussion rolling. We’ve heard some really awesome ideas where we’re considering of incorporating themes of nature onto the blanket—particularly inspired by a piece of birch bark that Robin so generously brought in (thank you!).

Here’s a simple recap of what went on at our last meeting. We basically went over the creative potential of this project in bringing people together to share with one another. Debra expanded on this idea by sharing her personal story in relations to her ties with our community since her childhood days. She then asked us to reflect and look into the possible connections we may already have. So, let’s keep this idea fresh our in mind while attending the workshops!
